The Challenge

A leading financial services firm sought to continue their learning journey by embedding DEI principles more fully into their firm culture and extending these initiatives to their portfolio companies. After conducting two initial workshops, the firm aimed to integrate DEI-enhancing practices at every level of the organization.

How We Helped

We began by designing a comprehensive three-part DEI workshop series for firm leadership, which was then successfully rolled out across the firm. This series was later integrated into the onboarding for all new employees and continues to be run multiple times a year. In our second year, we introduced tailored sessions for the firm’s high-performing leaders, now a regular part of its annual leadership development efforts. We also designed and facilitated bespoke workshops for the CEOs of the firm's portfolio companies, equipping them to embed DEI principles within their respective companies. As a result, several portfolio companies went on to partner directly with VallotKarp, implementing DEI workshops across their entire workforces.

The Impact

Within the first year of our partnership, the firm achieved company-wide gender parity, demonstrating the tangible results of this work. The firm adopted "Conscious Inclusion" as a core competency, evaluating every leader annually using an "Inclusion Score,” which now serves as a tool for identifying key areas for growth. For example, leaders with lower Inclusion Scores received targeted coaching to support their professional growth and reinforce inclusive leadership as a development priority.
